A Church in Renewal

These organizations work for progressive change in the Church.

Voice of the Faithful was founded in Boston in 2002 in response to the sexual abuse and cover-up scandal in the Church. VOTF attempts to provide a prayerful voice, attentive to the Spirit, through which the Faithful can actively participate in the governance and guidance of the Catholic Church.  Goals are To support those who have been abused, To support priests of integrity, and To shape structural change within Church.

Call To Action (CTA) is an independent national organization of over 25,000 people and 40 local organizations who believe the Spirit of God is at work in the whole church, not just in its appointed leaders. We believe the entire Catholic church has the obligation of responding to the needs of the world and taking initiative in programs of peace and justice.

Catholics Speak Out (CSO), a project of the Quixote Center, encourages reform in the Roman Catholic Church and adult responsibility for faith. In particular, the project works towards equality and justice within the Church and dialogue between the laity and hierarchy on issues of sexuality, sexual orientation and reproduction.

FutureChurch is a national coalition of parish-based Catholics who seek the full participation of all baptized Catholics in the life of the Church. Inspired by Vatican II, FutureChurch recognizes that Eucharistic Celebration (the Mass) is the core of Roman Catholic worship and sacramental life. FutureChurch advocates that this celebration be available universally and at least weekly to all baptized Catholics.

To achieve these goals, FutureChurch advocates the ordination of all baptized persons who are called to priestly ministry by God and the people of God. FutureChurch works with an attitude of respect for the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and its current position on ordination. Through open, prayerful and enlightened discussion and through dialogue with other Catholics locally and globally, we seek to participate in formulating and expressing the Sensus Fidelium (the Spirit-inspired beliefs of the faithful) with respect to the Eucharist and ordained ministry.

Dignity/USA We believe that God created us, Christ died for us, and the Holy Spirit sanctified us in Baptism. As GLBT Catholics, it is our right, our privilege, and our duty to live the sacramental life of the Church. We believe that we can express our sexuality in a loving, life-affirming manner that is in keeping with Christ's teaching.

New Ways Ministry provides a gay-positive ministry of advocacy and justice for lesbian and gay Catholics and reconciliation within the larger Christian and civil communities.

CORPUS is the Association for an Inclusive Priesthood, which rooted in a strong Eucharistic commitment, promotes an expanded and renewed priesthood of married and single men and women in the Catholic Church. CORPUS is one of the oldest reform groups in the Catholic Church, and is active in reform movements both in the U.S. and abroad.

Women’s Ordination Conference (WOC) works for the ordination of women as priests and bishops into a renewed priestly ministry in the Roman Catholic church. To this end WOC:  Works for justice and equality for women in our church; Strives to eliminate all forms of domination and discrimination in the Catholic church; Advocates inclusive church structures; Supports and affirms women's talents, gifts and calls to ministry.

National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries
A network encouraging pastoral care with Lesbian and Gay Catholics and their families.

Association for the Rights of Catholics in the Church (ARCC) affirms that there are fundamental rights and corresponding responsibilities which are rooted in the humanity and baptism of all Catholics. Hence, the goals of ARCC are: To institutionalize a collegial and egalitarian understanding of Church in which decision-making is shared and accountability is realized among Catholics of every kind. We are Church!
